Mattias Karlsson

Mattias was involved in founding Cellectricon and joined the company on a full-time basis in 2003 as VP R&D to develop the product portfolio. He has contributed to the company with most of the patents and the conceptual work to define products from existing IP. Prior to his position of Chief Executive Officer at Cellectricon he was responsible for marketing and sales activities as VP Business Development. Mattias has a PhD in chemistry from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg and a MSc in analytical chemistry from Gothenburg University.

Paul Karila

Paul joined the company in 2012 as head of Cellectricon’s Discovery Services. He previously worked at AstraZeneca (AZ) where he held leadership positions at the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and later at the department of Neuroscience. At the R&D facilities, Paul led teams responsible for ion channel and GPCR profiling in LI-LO phase, mainly on analgesia targets, and most recently a target identification/target validation team focusing on native (human) tissue. Prior to joining AZ, Paul was a Postdoctoral Fellow at School of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, USA, studying neurobiology using electrophysiological methods, and a Graduate student in animal physiology at University of Gothenburg, Sweden (1991- 1997).

Johan Pihl

Johan joined Cellectricon in 2005 and has been in R&D and commercial positions at the company. He was involved in the development of Cellectricon’s microfluidics-based electrophysiology platforms, and managed the development of Cellectricon’s optical electrophysiology platform Cellaxess Elektra. He currently holds the position of COO and manages and develops Cellectricon’s laboratory operations and workflows, and is in addition responsible for developing Cellectricon’s internal technology platform for discovery services. Johan has a PhD in Chemistry from Chalmers University of Technology and is the author and co-author of a number of scientific publications and patents.
CFO

Kristina Hillskär

Kristina was appointed CFO of Cellectricon in 2016. She has over 25 years of experience from similar positions, operating in both large and small corporate groups. Prior to joining Cellectricon, Kristina has worked in auditing, wholesale, and finance in different roles as accounting manager and CFO.
